A follow up to the eggs picture I posted: these fish are a male Farlowella (with the bristled nose) next to a female Farlowella (smooth nose). The female is very shiny due to the flash.

What strange fish! At least they keep the glass clean! Are they cold water or tropical? Well done on breeding them.

A good shot, well caught!

watcha Bernice,
nice capture, guddun. Are they like the fish that hang on to sharks or are they bottom dwellers and use the suckers to hang on to stones in fast current?
best

To answer questions - they are tropical fish that hang onto rocks, logs, leaves, etc and scrape the algae off to eat.

When they are in amongst leaves they look very much like a stick or a dead leaf and a couple of times, whilst I have been cleaning out their tank, I have pulled one out by mistake!

I hadn't a clue what this was from the thumbnail. Very interesting and a good description.

WOW Bernice. This is a great shot, very clear and show the fish off beautifully. The flash seems to have highlighted their colours.

I never realised they looked quite like that! Love the shot. Smile
