Italy's beautiful unknowns (Part II)

By bliba
The medieval district of Città Alta is surrounded by 16th century Venetian walls and is dominated by the Rocca di Bergamo fortress. In the charming piazzas of the quarter are the Palazzo della Ragione with its arcades, the Basilica of S. Maria Maggiore with its gilded interior and the Cappella Colleoni with its elaborate marble façade. Along the narrow streets there are upscale small boutiques and delicatessens, centuries-old cafés, trattorias and wine bars.

Thanks for looking

They certainly are. "Iconic" location shots are mostly just re-makes, copies, of what has all been done over and over again.
This is so evocative of the real character of the place.
