Itchen Valley winter scene

By Sloman
I went to a local country park to get some pictures of the recent snow. I came across these strange lumps in the snow and thought it made for an interesting shot.

The frame sets this pic off nicely - the presentation looks great especially with the light shadow effect.

quite a lovely scene and i like the pastel shades, however it looks as if the main area of interest, (the bumps in the snow) is a little overexposed and loses impact because of this. it would have been lovely to have had some really sharp crispy texture in the foreground.

i think the horizon is a little close to centre too, and yet somehow, i still rather like this image.

You have a great capture here. For an alternative view, I have changed the composition to fit in with my crop. I have also adjusted the levels, saturation, hue, and contrast slightly, as I say it is only for an alternative view and not to distract from the original, which is something to be proud of.

What a stunningly beautiful image !, with gorgeous colours, & a lovely 'wintery-evening' feel.....has a strong 'painterly' quality too, which I like....top notch

i like the pastel colour, and it has a nice feel to it. agree with the others about cropping the bottom of the snow as it lacks detail and also removes the 50/50 split. had a go at a mod, but i'm not good with snow and its gone abit grey.lesley
