Its Time to Care

By LesleyWalter
Just wanted to try something different, trying to portray that life isn't great for everyone. Interested to know if I have succeeded. I know its not a "pretty" picture but would appreciate comments.

Two very sad girls but you have caught them in the mood. I feekl for them and think they need some love. Peter Howe

It works really well - can't fault it.

Yes it works to a certain degree but I think it could be carried a bit further, by having a bit of rubbish around even a dustbin overflowing and particularly a light that would add a bit of drama like, evening with a hurricane lamp beside them giving aan impression that they have nowhere to go.

A nice study, and nicely composed but it looks just a bit staged for me, forgive me if I'm wrong. The facial expressions certainly do look genuine enough, but are the dirt and bruises real, and wre the y posed to sit there?. The treatment has a low contrast HDR-ish feel to it but also looks a bit soft and even pixellated in parts - I think there should be more critical focus around the eyes at least

Just my honest thoughts

Thank you everyone very much. And Tooth, I always want honest thoughts as that is how we learn. I am confessing that this is very much a staged shot, using my beautiful and well loved granddaughters. They don't mind a bit of acting. But I was hoping it would get a message across. There has been some treatment but not HDR and thank you for pointing out the technical faults as I hadn't noticed, but often people do miss these on their own pictures.

Apologies for upsetting anyone's emotions. At least it has provoked some thought and response. Definitely staged and the girls are good actresses!

I've done a few modifications for your consideration. I just wish I were better at this sort of thing, but if may give you a few ideas.

Thank you to those who have taken the time to do modifications - certainly has given me a few ideas! I don't really know how to carry out the treatment in the last one added but it looks particularly good.
