Jaws Ajar & Handle Loose

By DicksPics
Images taken at a Vintage Transport and Country Fair at Himley Hall, the ancestral home of the Earl of Dudley.

This sturdy little anvil vice is part of the travelling tool kit of the wonderful scaled down version of a Burrell Traction Engine, seen in V3.
The title refers to how a vice should be left when not in use ........ if one walks into a vice handle that has been fully tightened the experience may be very painful!!

Many thanks to Colleen(ColleenA), Michal(mogobiker), Dave(doverpic), Kate(Irishkate), Jukka(kuvailija), Jeff(kojock), Dave(mistere), Carol(canoncarol), Steve(Stephen_B) and Helen(helenlinda) for their much appreciated User Awards for my 'A Place for Everything........' upload and for all votes and kind comments.Smile

I hope you have had a good week, folks.

Good advice Richard - just had a thought - maybe you could introduce us to all your tools with a description of what you use them for - my garage is full of stuff that I don't know how to use. Can cope with a hammer and screwdriver !
Love that engine in V3

Used one in my days at Technical College in the 50's Richard. Could indeed be painful.

This is a really beautiful vice. From a guy who uses them.

Great captures here Richard. The vice brings back a particular memory for me. My father in law backed his car into his garage and hit his vice leaving an indent of the vice in the back of the car. He now has sensors on his car!
