The river was too high yesterday and only small parts of the footpath were usable, so as not to waste a good walk I walked back over Redhill Common LNR and as the winter sun started to drop below the tree line I noticed this Jay catching the last few rays.

I only managed to get a few shots off, as I have never been able to get a half decent image of this shy bird I thought it might be worth sharing.

Many thanks for yesterdays Kingfisher C&Cs and in particular Lillian for her valued UA.

Certainly worth sharing this lovely image Trev. There is one at The Lodge but it always stays its distance and i can never get near it.

It's more than I can get Trev. I have one that visits the hide regularly but it's too quick for me. Cathy
