Jealous Sky & Tree ...

By sut68
Over the weekend, I ventured over to Hellaby, Rotherham to 'recover' Fran from her fortnight of Review Marking. We had recce'd this particular spot the evening before and decided it could make a decent enough spot for sunrise.

When we arrived and set up, there was a lovely bit of cloud cover and broken sky towards the horizon, and the breeze was moving the Wheat perfectly so things looked very promising ... slowly but surely though, the clouds decided to disappear, the breeze dropped and the sun began to rise in the 'lovely' blue sky for our troubles Sad

Title derived from a line in Sting's song 'Fields of Gold' - I know, it's not Barley but is in fact Wheat, but I'm hopeful you'll let me off with my artistic licence Wink

A composite from 3 shots, combined in PhotoMatix using 'Exposure Fusion' and then some rather judicious retouching of lens flare.

Cheers for dropping by, catch up in a bit.

Paul

You deserve letting off for venturing near Rotherham, never mind the artistic licence.

LOL ... I'm not afraid to use it at all, happy to say when I do too Grin I try not to rely on it as a rule though, in fact the central exposure in this set looks pretty good anyway, but the fused version just had a little extra detail resolved in the shadows so opted to keep that one.

Cheers all, enjoy your evening.

Finely tuned balance between the dark tree form and the bright sky, with the tramline pulling the eye into the scene. Love those streaks of light extending across the crop in front and behind the tree.
