An attempt at recreating the style of Jill Greenberg. Some people will like it, others will hate it.

I personally really like the way it's turned out.

This is the fantastic model Jelena P. who I believe will do very well in her modelling career.

Beautifully 'manipulated'. As an admirer of Jill Greenberg, I think you've managed to emulate the style very well indeed.

Whao... another EC!!! And more great comments.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I've learned a lot from the constructive critiscism from everyone and the helpful posts on the forum (started by Henchard I may add).

I'm really enjoying this style of manipulation.

Reading through I just noticed Life's comment.

On this shot I used two beauty dishes to the side as two key lights (I know... breaking the rules again). Quite powerful and spilling to the background.

A large softbox above (about 30 degrees) and directly in front of the model used as fill light.

The two strong side lights provide most highlights. The front box provide soft highlights, which I build upon using the techniques touched upon by Amy Dresser

Hope that helps a little.

Hi Topcat. No big secrets really to be honest.

Read this Smoothing the skin

And if you do a search on Jill Greenberg or Amy Dresser (here on ePhotozine) you'll find Henchards thread about the rest of the technique.

Apart from adding the radial gradient, it was all lighting really.

First let me say that most of your work is of very high quality..... but this really is exceptional.
I have been busy with work and moving house recently and have had little time for photography or commenting but had to come out of semi-retirement (comments wise) and comment on this.
The lighting, model, manipulation and overall effect are truly impressive and this image would grace any gallery.

Yipee! My first photo with 100 clicks.

Thanks sooo much everyone including the ePz team who chose this as POTW. This has really built my confidence.

Just for info I'm about half way through writing a tutorial so hopefully I'll be able to start handing out the URL in a few weeks. It's looking quite lengthy so I'm not sure if Pete will be able to make it into a technique entry or not.
