Jennings Sturgeon, Tragic Artist.

On the set of a movie, Jennings Sturgeon, actor, painter, prop man, here on the set of "To Be A Man," a movie starring Charles MacArthur, Van Heflin, and Rita Moreno. It was released here as Cry Of Battle. About Luis Taruc, and The Huk Movement, it was too ambitious a theme for a ninety minute film. Actor, Van Heflin, a volatile personality made it difficult for Director Irving Lerner, which reflected in the final product. On this occasion, he was an art director in charge of aging costumes, a job he executed with uncommon skill.

Love this. Tells a story in its own right. The look from the young girl is great and makes the image what it is.
