Another from the first Beverley Real Ale Festival (19th-20th October 2012), held in the beautiful surroundings of St Mary’s medieval parish church, Beverley, East Yorkshire.
The two minstrels were accompanying ‘The Raving Maes’ – lady morris dancers with attitude! One of the traditional dances/tunes they perform/play is called ‘Jenny Pluck Pears’.
Thanks for all the C&Cs on ‘Half of White Rabbit’ (which features a ‘Raving Mae’!).
I love this sort of B&W shots, Philip. This is great and so natural! Well done again!
A very strong image Philip.Mind you none of these characters look like Morris Dancers.
The group of people are very well composed (pun intended) with the heads bicly curving round the pillar.
I enjoy an ale now and then--- Sam Adams Summer Ale being my favorite-- the music looks to good here as well
