Jesus Wants Me......

By Fefe
Morning folksGrin Today's upload was taken last Sunday and another walk around Dam Flask on the edge of the Peak District............ Blimey it was coldTongueTongue on the walk around the dam, we had blizzardsSad, windTongueTongue and some sunSmileSmileSmile, just as we got back to the car this was the viewGrin
Now I have uploaded it I am in doubt already about the dark diagonal in the foreground, Maybe I should have cropped that?Blush..........Oh well.... See what you think.

Thankyou all very much for recent votes, comments and advise, very much appreciated as alwaysSmile

Super capture Diane, leave the diagonal in, it shows it is a lake, take it out and it will look as if you are in a boat on the sea.

I do agree with your thoughts Diane! The composition would be better without the foreground dark area, the golden light reflected on the water makes great foreground interest, but the stunning light from the sky is the main focus here, a very beautiful capture.

have a good weekend.

Trev.

Why not take the water out and leave the dark patch.......

What super water made possible because of the sun being behind that cloud. Perhaps take out that darkpatch but play around with it on your computer and see what is best for your eyes.

Works well with the diagonal left in...but who's looking at that with a magnificent sky like this! Wink Well timed too, to get that passing cloud just in the right place....Smile

Leave it in, take it out, all a matter of personal taste. I rather like it in but it is up to you. The most magical parts of this image are those wonderful beams, the rim lit cloud and the sparkling water.

Beautiful image and I agree cropping some of the water would give you a better composition, not as it's a bad image, it's wonderful...Jojm

It was the coldest it's been all winter and i'm up there alot. My ' Winter scene' shot was taken 10 minutes before yours, could even be the same cloud.........mean and moody.

The dark diagonal in the foreground is fine in my eyes just goes to show we all like different things and that's a good thing, amazing light with nice reflections, the wonderful beams, the lit cloud and the sparkling water are a joy to see. nice one

WOW. Awesome capture Smile I'm glad you left the diagonal in. For one thing, it gives the shot a clearer sense of place and context. Second, you would've lost some of that lovely light in the water had you cropped.
