Excellent tack-sharp & colored capture. The composition is 'spot-on,' with the main subject in the sweet spot of the image frame. The subject matter is 'not' too tightly cropped. The contrast gradation applied is superb with very bright highlights on the reflected silver bangle, spanning the darkest portions of the picture. The color spectrum is very appealing with the many different colored rocks, which also lends a texture component to the image. In summary, a very nice shot.

Sorry but I'm afraid I have to disagree with just about all of that.

I've uploaded a mod. in which I've cropped the image, partly to move the jewellery away from the centre and partly to get rid of some of the rocks, all of which are competing for the viewers' attention and drawing that attention away from the jewellery which is what the image is suposed to be about.
I've also de-saturated the colours somewhat and aplied quite a lot of sharpening.
Also, it's always a bad idea to use a frame which mimics the most prominent or important colour in the image. (I know the turquoise here's actually the Epz. background rather than a frame but it has the same effect.)

Sorry about the negativity but you did ask for critique and if you're going to be helping a friend with her business via your photography, then you'll need it to be the best it possibly can be.

Hope this helps.

I agree with Jester, as the pic is specifically and imporantly to "sell" the jewellery then the rocks, pleasant to the eye as they are, are an unnecessary distraction. It's not posible to show it with a mod here, but I think it would have been best just shot on one large rock with a nice texture as the background.

I disagree also about the contrast gradation being superb..there are areas of blown highlight on the bangle and lost shadow detail in the space between the rocks. You haven't said how it was lit - the exif says there was no flash so I'm guessing maybe window light, which has been a bit harsh and contrastuy. Some kind of a diffuser (even tissue paper_) might have avoided the harshest of the contrast, thoughbv I'm really no expert in lighting matters like this

Nice work but I'd go back and try again with thes epoints in mind
