I never tired of doing icebergs. These are tiddlers compared to what I've seen in Greenland but no less wonderful for it, and a damned sight easier to get to as well. If you set off now, you can be there by tomorrow afternoon. And its one of the few reciprocating "green list" countries for UK travellers (at the time of writing!) Smile I see the Fagradalsfjalla volcano is still erupting but not as continuously as back in May/June. But if the weather is kind, and it decides to play ball, a trip now would still be a good time to go.

Another cracker for this armchair pilot, are these icebergs grounded in this lagoon? looking here it seems to have a stratification where parts have melted away over time.
Cheers Simon.

Exactly right - they get grounded in the lagoon and roll around until eventually they make it down the river and into the sea. Crystal Beach, where the river flowing from the lagoon and into the sea, is so-called because its often riddled with small residual chunks of ice that reflect the light on an otherwise black sand beach. Its a sure-thing for a photographer IF the "crystals" are there and if the sun is out.
