Having a bit of a strange week here, extreme highs and lows
My partner was rushed into hospital last week with a pulmonary embolism, pulmonary oedema and heart arrhythmia, went to see him on Thursday evening for several hours just after admission but have been unable to see him since, first they were sending him for a scan at another hospital on Friday, so I couldnt visit him all day, he eventually got to the other hospital late afternoon, but no one told us he was actually being transferred onto a ward at that hospital , which is incredibly difficult for me to reach on buses, so by the time I knew I could not reach him by bus and get home again safely. So we cut our losses and thought I could visit the next morning. By the morning he was ill, along with lots of other patients on the ward with suspected Norovirus - the ward had been closed with it last week. They closed the ward and told us we could not visit. Obviously this has made him worse, and he ended up on a heart monitor with an abnormal heart rhythm again.
The hospitals communication with both him and me has been appalling, the worst I have ever witnessed ( and Im an ex nurse) His own nurse told me he was fine on the phone, I had to tell him he had nausea, diarrhoea and had to push for him to get anti sickness tablets. He has only been diagnosed with diabetes a few weeks and he has been given so little food that its beyond a joke. He still hasnt had his scan and is getting only around 4 hours of sleep a night from the noise on the ward. Hopefully I will actually get to see him tomorrow, although the ward sister said the ward is not open to visitors until tomorrow evening at the earliest - just as the buses to my village stop. I think I will speak to her tomorrow. Not happy, going round the twist with worry.
But after my rant I do have some good news, I passed my Associateship with the SWPP this weekend
