Award Shortlist

By John_Humphreys
These are pictures of the theatre company Histrionic Productions in rehearsal for John Retallack's stage adaptation of the novel 'Junk' by Melvin Burgess.

'Junk' is an award winning novel about young people who leave the comforts of their suburban homes and slide into drug addiction.

Histrionics Productions is a company of young actors based in Limerick who are not professional but a number of them plan to pursue acting as a career. Rehearsals are carried out in an old church that is now used as a community centre. The play will run at the Belltable Arts Centre in Limerick from 14th to 16th August.

All photographs were taken with available light using a Nikon D2X and a 50mm/f1.4 prime lens.

Like how youve included the director in all shots, - and cant beat the prime for these settings either.

Excellent reportage set, some fine individual shots (I particularly enjoy V2), building up into a real picture of the scene. Something very dear to my heart here - real communication.

Excellent reportage, so suited to mono. The depiction of the director at work is particularly impressive.

A good series John. I know the story very well and can see the characters even from the stills.
I wish them well.
