Jurassic Park

By stevenr
Located to the west of the Cuba, Pinar del Rio is blessed with an exotic landscape of conical limestone monoliths called mogotes which are found nowhere else in the world save southern China. Woven into this tapestry of lush green vegetation are provincial villages, traditional farms, endless caves and tobacco curing shacks. This shot was taken 4 days before the onslaught of Hurricane Wilma.

That is one stunning landscape and deserves to be viewed at the larger size. At the smaller size it might take a little more sharpening to make it stand out.

Thanks everyone! Jouko, I suspected that including direct links to homepages were illegal, but thanks for confirming! I'll remove it. Thanks form commenting Melanie- Sharpening is something I have some problems with- I have two displays, a CRT and an LCD- images look oversharpened on the LCD but undersharpened on the CRT! (you wouldnt have a CRT by any chance?)...its been a real source of doubt.

Steve: Sorry, I didnt mean, that you should remove the link...glad that its in my computers Internet history...now I can look it again and again... ; )
Its still AMAZING shot!

Ive found also, that the photo looks different when looking it on the TFT...I have an old and faithful 19" CRT and this photo looks good...I have calibrated my display...

Thanks for sharing this wonderful shot...

Best regards...
