Such a lovely mono Kate, and the dog rounds it off beautifully.. I love the ocean, to look at, not get into. Grin A beautiful 'scape..

A wonderful mono and I like it a lot, but I'd prefer the spaniel a little closer to appear bigger, Kate.

Hi Kate
This is a nice B+W I like the detail and the tones in the rocks and the sand. For me though the highlights on the sea are drawing my eye and seem to lack detail.

In my mod I concentrated on these areas selecting them and reducing the midtones to lower the glare and bring out a bit more detail.

Let me know what you think

I like this mono seascape very much - plenty of interest - and like the foreground with the rocks which draws me into the little dogSmile

Great seascape, Kate! Monochrome brings in front a lot of details and the point of view is fine!

A fine shot Kate.
But with my camera club hat on,
perhaps the shadows need lifting a tad !!
(And I put my pink shorted window cleaner in a club comp' a while back as a bit of a ''joke'' really.
I was gobsmacked when I got 19 for it.Just goes to show that not all the judges are old fuddy duddy's !!)

A well composed picture that works so well in mono, Kate/
The addition of the little dog and owner add so much to the image.

Had a go at a mod for you Kate.
I like to do a mono from the colour version, as I usually convert them to mono by deleting the colour channels that least suit the image, if that makes sense? I did delete two channels anyway, even though they all looked the same, but it did make a slight difference ( Bet this is as clear as mudTongueBlush)
I then had a bit of a play in highlights/shadows to lighten the shadows in the rocks.
Nice mono to start with, I just like to play, but I hope you find it useful!

Probably better to upload the original colour file Kate, then we can mod that, difficult processing an already processed image. Great composition...
Nice light in this B&W with excellent composition. Well done Kate.
