Just a Memory

By beckas
One of my EPZ friends sent me a link to an incredibly talented self portrait artist. I was inspired by her ability to take beautiful portraits in ordinary clothing and in every day environments.

So this image is an experimental upload. I know that it may not be everyone's "cup of tea", but it's my attempt at taking a portrait in my ordinary environment.

The title and the image are as one. Your talent seems not to allow you to fail. Any more words would be of no use.

Agree totally....!
Would be interesting to see the model doing mundane things and in mundane postures in such a beautiful portrait style - might not be what you are after though....

Absolutely beautiful Becka.....this has a dreamy quality to it, the light works very well, its nicely framed by the door, the tones work and of course, the model is a bit of a stunner as well! Wink Not sure why it should be an experimental upload as this could be a new string to the person who would seriously appreciate this is no longer on the site as its very much in her style, so would have been interested to hear what she had to say, but this really is superb.....almost a voyeristic capture, but for all the RIGHT reasons.......superb!

Great shot really works well. The framing through the door is spot on, and the light is exactly right.

Looking forward to this series, you've always had a knack for sp's. Don't go too "posed" though I think the "ordinary/natural" will be a good challenge and produce some great images. Geoff

PS So c'mon share the link!!

I'm shaking my head at how perfect this is. Beautifully framed (within a frame), beautifully lit, beautifully processed. 'Beautiful model' is a moot point.

I like Pauline's suggestion. I'm thinking 'looking out the window'. Could be seated. Could be leaning against the window frame. Could be hands on sill looking out. Ooo...could be hands on sill looking out and screaming, "You crazy kids! Get the hell outta here!!"

Thanks all! I really appreciate your comments. And thank you Barry for the UA.

Hi Angie and Geoff, I will send you the link.

Hi Darren, I didn't light the image. The bathroom has two very large windows so it is often flooded with sunlight. It also has a two large mirrors that reflect the light. When taking the photograph, I had to over expose the image by two stops, because otherwise the "model" would have been completely dark due to the strong back lighting. The over exposure caused the windows to be blown out, but I was happy with the effect so I didn't attempt to change the lighting.

Superb! You have really created a classy image that I'm sure does justice to style you have emulated. The softness of the fg tones that frame the focal point against the bright bg light is quite wonderful. Experiment? Masterful!
