just let me hoover the pink carpet

By annettep38
thanks for your great reception of the meadow cosmos!

here is a Silver-washed Fritillary (Argynnis paphia) having a feed. It took Pam and me only 20 minutes to nail it down till it had decided itself between hundreds of these flowers. But then the sooty satyrs give the fritillaries a hard time. Taken at the mozzy lake.
BTW I have noticed a pecking order: all butterflies yield to bumble bees, admirals are posers and ignore all others, satyrs and peacocks chase the small one but satyrs yield most of the time to admirals, fritillaries come next and they chase the blues and hairstreaks.

A great macro -- well worth the wait. Very nice bokeh in this shot and I really like the border as well.
However, not sure I understand the title.

A fine shot annette.
And I have still to find a backer for my new invention to do away with hoovers.
A pair of slippers with changeable sticky soles to pick up the dirt as you walk about the house !!

A real beauty Annette, you certainly know your stuff. You did much better than the two herberts, Gary D and the Big O when they tried to photograph this species in the Forest of Dean. You would have laughed at the pair of clowns chasing them around and attempting to photograph them to no avail. I only wish i'd filmed them on my small camera and uploaded a youtube link of them, seeing the Big O dash around with his camera and butterfly net was a sight to behold!Grin
