Karissa - Pinup

By beckas
I joined my local tog friend Craig for a pinup shoot a few months ago. He is fantastic at photographing pinup images. I will probably not shoot a lot of pinup style images in the future as I prefer to shoot outdoors, but it was an interesting learning experience.

I find it interesting that this image is the most popular photo in Karissa's portfolio by a landslide. I have to admit that I am quite pleased about that. Smile

I do like this one, the processing, pose and model gives a very authentic 40's/50's pin up feel. You could just see this painted on the side of a bomber.

That's what I like someone else who remembers Betty Grable (and presumably real films) I don't feel so bad now.

Even though it doesn't sound like it was you style still a very nice shot. Think it is well cropped to fis the frame and the lighting is well balanced.

Absolutely tremendous image - a real 40's/'50's feel - I wouldn't be suprised to see this on the nose of a WWII bomber! Fabulous Smile

G3, sorry, I don't really give lessons (I am still learning myself) but I will be happy to answer any questions. In regards to this image, Craig and I both researched pinup poses and we brought pose examples to the shoot for Karissa to copy. This image was shot on a white background. Four lights were used (two to hightlight the backround and two to light the front). In regards to the processing, after general touchup, I added a pastel coloured bokeh overlay to the image. Then I cross processed the colours in the image to give it more of a vintage feel.

This is just the kind of Pin-Up I've been wanting to do!

Would you be willing to provide a few pointers for post prod technique?

Thanks
