King's Staith

By TrevBatWCC
Until I go away at Christmas and get some new images, I'm scraping the bottom of the barrel now, so it's back to York and the EPZ meet! Taken at 5:15 p.m. as it was starting to get dark, this was down by the riverside on King's Staith. A bit of digital jiggery-pokery in V2 turned it more into a late night shot, with a moon and a bit of mist added!

Techie stuff – see Exif
Single Raw image processed in Adobe Camera Raw, tweaked in Photomatix Pro and Elements 6.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

The balance of tones are just right for this type of image. Great shot.

I also know the pub Trev I remember going in but not coming out! Not sure the one to choose today as I like them both, once again the processing is superb, V2 would be great for your Christmas greeting.

If the moon got that close to the King's Staith I would try to get as far away as possible, probably to The Three-Legged Mare or The Last Drop Smile
Very enjoyable fiddling!

Mousing between V1 and V2 is so funny - re V2, well York is supposed to be the most haunted place in the UK! That man hung around an awfullu long time, didn't he...

Two very fine images, Trev: love the composition you have created, and the transformation to the night scene is so impressive. Is this the inn that gets flooded on a frequent basis.......I see, to recall reading about this somewhere or other?

A lovely architectural shot Trev, with a very gentle glow about it. The digital jiggery-pokery in v2 has worked a treat.

It's an attractive scene, Trev, and a nice time of day for the subtle light, but V2 has really been done well, very nice work.

Wow, Trev. What starts out as a very interesting image in its own right is transformed into a magical night shot in V2. Very sympathetic treatment used there, and the added mist is perfect.
