Kinsale Cottage

By Andrew_Hurley
This is the simply stunning Irish village of Kinsale in County Cork, famous for its culinary excellence. A village well worth visiting if you ever visit Southern Ireland. Built on a steep hill, some of the properties have commanding views of Clonleigh, Summercove and Ballynabooly.

Kinsale is a charming fishing village, full of colour, charm and character. Quite simply put it's a photographer's paradise. I believe Ken Doherty, the professional Snooker Player, lives here. This is one of the side streets (yes a steep one) near the foot of the village, I just love the colours and simplicity of this image. Colourful villages is what Ireland is renowned for.

All comments and votes, awards very welcome indeed!

Thanks to everyone who voted on Kinsale Kolour and Wexford Quay.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Andrew.

Nice Idea, great colour, but personally i think it would be better without the vignette. Bombolini

Thanks Brian, comments always appreciated. I must admit I never usually bother with vignettes as I find them a bit false, but they are supposed to stop your eyes from wandering out of the frame. There is a user on EPZ whose vignettes are pure black and dominate his images, which are amazing, yet the vignettes are well overdone. If I bother with them at all I like to keep them subtle. I'll certainly take your comment on board.

Stunning image, those colours are excellent. I personally think the vignette works a treat but a good critique to try out

Thanks again for your comments Steve, I do like this image, very simply, colourful and graphic. When I first started visiting Ireland, I thought there would be more colourful cottages like this, but they appear to be few and far between.
