Knitted Nostalgia.

By lifesnapper
A break from my Samos pictures until after the weekend, to show you some images from Rochester Cathedral. For over a year now, many local women have been clicking away with their knitting needles to create over 5,000 knitted poppies which are now displayed in three separate locations. I shall upload more on Friday and then a special one along with a short verse that I've written, on Sunday.

Thank you once again for your much appreciated vote's, comment's award's on my latest images. And not forgetting of course, the mod's Smile

All the best to all,

JohnSmile

Sometimes I wonder if knitting isn't our most original art-form Smile
Excellent displays, John, and very thoroughly captured too.

This is a lovely set, I particularly like the closer views, V5 for example.
Knitted poppies have really taken off this year, I have seen some beautifully creative displays.

I heard about these earlier today on Radio 5 Live - some of the women even knitted in the breaks between games at the bingo!. One woman had made nearly a thousand! Tremendous effort by all, not to mention impressive.
