This was on Titchwell Beach in Norfolk at the end of August. It was about an hour before sunset, and the retreating tide was creating amazing patterns and textures on the sand. I knelt down in the mud (luckily I was wearing shorts) and approached the many wading birds feeding on the beach. This know was one of the birds on its own, so I started to photograph it.
