Know Your Onions

By chase
A second frame from my outing with Onions Wink
This time with added Chives from the garden.

Lit by restricted daylight camera left.
I made the wooden base....kept me quiet for an hour or so !

An HDR image, 3 frames, each 1 stop apart, combined in Lightroom and finished with the usual faffing in Photoshop.

I am still in a dark will pass Wink

Thanks for dropping by.
Stay safe and well everyone.
Constructive critique and mods welcome.

Beautiful still, wonderful lighting detail and colour, I assume there is another version of this picture with the front element of the matierial in view, above seen as cropped, love the format, my favourite is 16:9 film view, that's how we used do story boards, as this gives you greater depth of vision, from a film perspective..
The reason why I ask..? the garlic skin ends on the right side perfectly with the frame, similar to the left side with the base material, but from the front, the material has got the "chop", would love to see another version with the material in view giving balance to foreground, but also textures and details of the surface for which the material is based far everything is lovely...

Thanks all.
Many thanks to Jim, David and Joline for your User Awards.

Yogendra, the reason the front of the material is cropped is that under the wooden boards is black so to leave the edge in view looked really odd. If there had been a little detail/light at the very bottom, I would have left it in view but not to be, so it got the chop, and tbh I thought it acted as a bit of a lead in to the rest of the image.

I have dropped in a vision which is totally unedited, just to show why I cropped off the material at the front, view in the large option which shows what is beneath the wooden base.

Yep, nice fresh Basil Sylvia, smalls wonderful.

I like this one...
On the point of the front of the board, you could use content aware or even the patch tool to cover the black 'void' and then you would have the point of the material included, which would be more pleasing, I feel...
