L'Absinthe 2017

By estonian
taken on this day February 2017 as we explored at that time to us, an unvisited Homerton,
part of London off the beaten track not more than four miles from our home, but with a gem of a pub - The Adam and Eve...
this is one of the regulars who put me in mind of that Degas painting which in my eye has been brought up to date still with the touch of melancholia of the original, the lady being replaced by this regular on his own...

Great candid image, at a very low shutter speed or is that slight blur from to much Absinthe. SmileSmileSmileSmile

melancholia is there, without question, and it does ring a loud bell for The Absinthe Drinker
hate to say this, but i miss some sharpness at 0.3s

Well spotted. Your subject has the same blank look of the absinthe drinker. but I should imagine a different tipple. A lot of Degas but a little of Manet. I like it very much.
