La Corbiere

By SWMahy
I've got a feeling this one might go down like a lead baloon but I see it as a work in progress. Smile

I've visited this spot numerous times the last couple of months and every time the light has been rubbish. This is the best so far, although the hazy sunset didn't bring the cliffs to life as much as I hoped.

The tower is one of numerous bunkers and towers left by the occupying forces in WWII and I think the strange piece of wall on the edge of the cliff is the remnant of a gun placement.

A composition worth persiting with? Always good to hear what you think.

Thanks for looking.

I can understand what you are saying here, Steve. With the sun in that position, I guess it would be difficult to get more detail in the cliff faces. I know that in spring/early summer the cliffs here can be a blaze of colour with a variety of wild flowers, and it might be worth while trying a shot earlier in the day and at that particular season. The composition itself looks fine to me though.

I like the light, the detail , and the recession in the late afternoon haze,. Definitely worth another try, or more, though that bit of wall is in the wrong place --- about 3 feet to the left would be an improvement. Have you thought about a higher viewpoint ? (stepladder?)
