La Gare Saint-Paul

By GwailoAngMo
A somewhat circuitous route took me from the Palais-Royal to the Place des Vosges. The weather was turning cold and damp again so it was time to go back to the warmth of the hotel via the immediate warmth of the Métro. I descended into the station of Saint-Paul, named after the nearby church of Saint-Paul-Saint-Louis in the Rue Saint-Antoine. So many saints!

The exit doors on the opposite platform were an irresistible subject. Presented in colour, black and white and mono with a colour highlight, a technique which I think needs to be used sparingly. It was ubiquitous sometime ago, but is not so popular now. It should be seen a little more often nowadays.
