Sandy, the lights you see are on the Kent side of the Thames Estuary, I'm often glad of their warm glow on blue sky mornings...
Peter, the tide here at the mouth of the River Thames goes out about a mile or so at low water, I'd guess - and comes in at quite a pace. We have to be very careful out there and watch each others backs...!!! I guess we go out about 200M maximum to photograph the boats at this point.
