Ladybird Larvae

By cattyal
Ok not my usual thing and a bit of a change from my recent uploads but it's not often I manage to get a beastie pic that I quite like. I think it's in focus anyway - I can't tell anymore!

I'd been cutting back these plants and had brought a few of the flowers in for pics. As I was going to bring them back downstairs I realised this chap had hitched a lift. Actually that clump is crawling with them at the moment but there's still plenty of suitable hiding spots for them left - I didn't remove their home altogether.....

I chased it round the flower a few times and it finally found a nice greenfly for lunch .....

I hope someone on here can identify it. What a strange beastie.

That 50mm lens must be the bees knees.
The wee beastie can't be more than a few mm in length

Thanks folks - it's hard to believe that this turns into a ladybird - it's larger, well longer than a ladybird! Neat little critter though and there's no shortage of them in the garden which is nice to see.

The 50mm is a nice lens - flaming thing still jams regularly but only when I want to use it on manual focus. I have to keep flicking it back and forth until it releases which is a right pain. It did jam up completely last year and I duly had it fixed - I suspect however it's past the 6 month guarantee now - better find the paperwork and see when it was done.
