Lake Bled 2

By 19mart71
Another photo of Lake Bled, I tried to frame the Island with some foliage.

I have increased the sat (blue channel) on the sky, and tried to lighten the foliage which looked black on the original.

I think dark foliage in the foregorund is fine - the darker the better! I've uploaded a mod on which I have made some slight adjustments.

But basically the photo is good, IMO.

Yep, I like both both of your mods. I am using Elements rather than the full monty - and still learning.

Thanks for the advice.

Colour and contrast are often a personal thing, and I like the way you have presented this one. However, the composition suffers slightly from the foilage on the right, which, IMHO, encroaches on the subject rather than frames it.

Half a pace to your left, or a pace forward would have cured this by seperating it from the edge of what looks like an island.

For me the sky is a real problem with this one, it's lost all detail in the clouds. I'd crop them off and concentrate more on the subject. I'd also warm the foreground while not warming the sky by making an overall curve adjustment to darken it then one to the blue channel only to keep the sky cool. Finally to my eye it's sloping to the left so I've straightened it too.
