The Lapwing ( vanellus vanellus )
I always regard this bird as having one of the most beautiful plumages of all birds. A careful study of the bird shows a myriad of soft and delicate colour variations. Caught this one recently in one of our rare sunny spells.
V2 is not quite as good as I would have wished. These birds fly very fast and usually very erratic flight and are difficult to follow so I was pleased to get even this shot.
Hope you will enjoy looking.
My grateful thanks for all c/c's on the Goldy. Particular thanksas ever, to Illi ( illiboy ) for the used award.

A pair of great captures, Ron. V1 illustrates the beautiful plumage iridescence, colouring and patterning perfectly and V2 is an excellent in-flight capture. Not an easy bird to photograph, as I have found out and you have done very well with these.

excellent images V1 shows the irridescence of the bird beautifully and V2 the wide wingspan - well done Ron
Happy to be 30 Ron!! Super images - V1 is as you say better than V2 but I have never seen one of these birds close quarters so V2 for me is a revelation at the size of the wings to the body! The plumage on V1 is stunning! Lou

I always remember being a lad and seeing large flocks of these sadly not so many nowadays.
Nicely caught in its natural habitat and I particularly like the flight shot as it shows the strength in the wings
