Large Blue basking

By Glostopcat
An extremely rare large blue butterfly seen at Daneway Banks nature reserve which is managed by Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. This is one of only two sites with public access in the country where it can be seen. The species fared really well there this year and good numbers of them were sighted on the reserve.

Super open winged shot. Never managed one myself. Must check out this place next year as it seems collard hill didn't do so well this year and they are both about the same distance from me.

On my last night of a 2 week holiday in the swiss alps and have been rather spoiled with these the past 2 weeks!
