LAST BIT OF LIGHT

By Imagephotographics
Morning everyone !

Many thanks for your comments & clicks on yesterday's SILVER AND GOLD, and a special thank you to Hugh for his UA, very much appreciated.

Today's image was taken about two weeks ago at Southerndown, I had packed all my kit up and was waiting patiently sat on a rock for John who had got chatting to someone. Got fed up, so decided to get my camera out again and take a few more shots, wedged myself up against a rock and carried on.

Hope you like it - I liked it for the turning wave in the background.

Sorry I've not managed to get round to viewing many images, and when I have, just been clicking, the site was so slow last night, kept freezing on me or I was getting just a page full of code. Seems much better at the moment ! So will try to catch up with everyone later.

Chris

Hi Chris,

Love the way that you have captured the waves, they look like one of those 70's Persian rugs.

No secret Barbara - given the conditions I decided to take the shot at 1/15 second to achieve this effect. These decisions are made dependent on the light conditions at the time.

From your description it seems this was taken hand held, if so, and you can do that so well at 1/15s. all I can say is WOW! AS usual you've captured your scene perfectly and I agree with you about the wave in the b/g, as well as liking very much the tumultuous water in the f/g.
Rgds., Jim

Thanks Jim for all your comments, yes, hand held, to be honest I've only tried using a tripod a couple of times, and I never seem able to get the shots I want using one, I like to be free with the camera, but it does make taking long exposure images more difficult, so I look for something to wedge myself against, or I usually use my knees lol !

I think you have uploaded another example of landscape photography of the highest standard. Well, actually, if the truth be told, it is seacape photography of the hightest standard, to be pedantic. And I am a hopeless pedant, may God have mercy.
