mutant branches taken this afternoon, from a twenty year old originally pot bound miniature Acer which has developed a rogue branch that is markedly different from the rest of the eight foot tree...
these have held on while the rest of the tree is completely without leaves...
see how this fares next year and watch if this mutant flourishes further and justifies re-potting in its own right...

Quire impressive the spindly branches still bearing leaves. I like the rain drops hanging to them and it looks as if it is still raining. They are also nicely isolated against the dark background.
