Last of many

By javam
12,731 built, but this is the last one in Europe still flying. The B-17 Flying Fortress - Sally B (AKA Memphis Belle).

Taken on Saturday at the Duxford Flying Legends display (rather than the Sunday crashing legends display).

This was after her display, taxing back after landing.

Thanks for looking.

Neil

This is my kind of shot, natural, with no airshow clutter to clone out. You once commented on your photos bombing if you show ground in them, i think the oposite. A bit of terra firma makes an aircraft shot in my opinion. It probably just doesnt attract the 'passing voters' who are possibly just not that interested in the actual aircraft if you know what I mean. Mind you, all mine seem to bomb! never mind. Great shot as always. Rich.

Thanks both.

Understand what you are saying Rich and I like them with ground in, but the views to votes ratio backs up my theory and suggests we are in the minority.

One of the aircraft specific photo sites I upload shots to occasionally seldom lets any through unless they do have ground in, but then I have seen people on there wet themselves over some fairly terrible photographs (from a technical perspective). As always give the punters what they want or they vote with their feet.

Thanks again.
