my last upload for awhile - nothing to good to photograph at present - just seem to be doing flowers and not particularly good ones or photographing anything just to have a picture to put on here. the regular very low interest levels in my portfolio prove to me my stuff is just dull and tedious so a break will hopefully improve that situation because has destroyed any confidence or self esteme i used to have in my photography. my time i spend here just feels like competing in a competition i will never win. i want my photography to bring pleasure to people when they view my creations the way it does for me creating it and i don't feel that these days.

thanks to those who have commented over the time, i have always highly appreciated your words.

This is beautiful, Peter, wonderful lighting and well presented. Don't despair, what does it matter if people don't appear too interested, if you like the image, then that's all that matters. Hope you don't leave us for too long, I, certainly, will miss your uploads. Carol

thanks carol *hugs* - i just feel i need to go away for awhile - i think it will help relight my passion for photography. i will pop back periodically but i find it a struggle at the moment putting pressure on myself to upload a new image every day and can end up just putting anything on so i feel i have achieved my uploading goal.

thanks again Grin x

Hi Peter
I hope you read this comment! I was a professional Photographer for over 40 years with a studio doing Weddings Commercial and Portraits, over that time I photographed over 2,000 Weddings, when I retired I did not pick up a camera for over five years, even now I hate doing portraits, what brought me back into Photography? A friend dragged me kicking and screaming to a camera club, ended up Chairman, bought a digital and some lenses and for the last two years have not stopped photographing Landscapes, seascapes, and wildlife, my life now resolves around photography once again.
Photography is about sharing beautifull moments that you have captured and not about winning, hope this helps.
Your photo is exposed spot on in a difficult lighting situation, keep it up!

thanks for the advice - most appreciated - i'm going to take a few steps back and return to just enjoying my hobby. an award is nice but i agree it is about capturing beautiful things and better if it is random and a nice surprise - like going on a walk and come across something amazing. when i have a smile on my face from something i have created that is my driving force Grin

you know what...if you're shooting just to post on here, it is best that you take a break. neither epz nor any other site is a reason to take pictures. that's a sure way to become a hack photographer and you don't want that. you're way too talented to fall into middle-of-the-road photography.

but don't feel bad 'cause i think that this happens at least once to everybody who participates at these sites. you kinda become so absorbed and so focused on a particular site(s) that you lose yourself and your vision.

can't wait to see what you come up with once you've got your mojo back. you're the best. =)

thanks c - totally agree with every word you say - the mojo buzz is still there somewhere but just clouded by a lot of irrelevence and pseudo confidence damage. while there is still something of a summer outside i want to go out and about with my camera and use the 28-300mm lens that i barely ever use even though i've had it since 2006. am so addicted to macro that i overlook the other great area's i can enjoy Grin

we are the best - i love you for you as much as you love me for me Grin

I know how you feel, I get the blues from time to time and can't think of news ways to tackle subjects. Have a rest and come back reinvigourated. This is pretty good by the way....I like it.

thanks everyone Grin

i went to my local beach with my family today and took my camera - i'm looking forward to learning and experiencing landscape photography as an addition to my overall range of subjects to explore - in an entirely relaxed situation i was able to capture some nice images and was lovely as a photographer seeing visuals in a new area and way. we all seek to open new avenues and from this new fresh start i see a bright future of delight Grin
