Late Tackle

By John_Humphreys
I took this shot a few weeks ago at an Under 12 Rugby match. 1/1250 sec, f/2.0, ISO400.

I recently held an exhibition in our club of these young rugby players in action. The prints were for sale with the proceeds going to fund our Under 16s tour to Biarritz and our Under 12s tour to Ealing next season. The prints went like hot cakes but I was even more pleased by the reaction of parents and others to them.

John, this so deserves the HC, I often take pics of my son's football team and know how hard it is to take a good shot! This is pin sharp and your timing is perfect to capture their expressions - my congrat's!

Excellent shot, and well deserving of the HC. Love the expressions, plus the way the ball is suspended in mid air, all on its own.

Thanks to everyone for the comments, particularly to Aidan - great comment about the 'lipstick' and to Pete for the recognition.

Nicely captured, John. I know only too well how tricky it is to get a good shot with all that fast movement.
Congrats on the HC too.Smile

Lovely action shot, John great timing to keep the ball in as well. Love the facial expressions and the determination of these young players. Well done on the HC, Deserved. (I probaly would have cloned out the foot on the right bottom corner)
