Laughing Jim

By Leilani
Okay you probably think I have been on a magick mushroom hunt... Tongue but I can assure you, just walking through the woods and having your eyes open you will see all sorts.

Why laughing Jim? Well, it's taken me two days to identify it and this is the closest fungi that sounds like it, looks and grows like it, so according to and directly quoted from Wiki....

Quote:Gymnopilus junonius is a species of mushroom in the Cortinariaceae family. Commonly known as laughing gym, laughing Jim, or the spectacular rustgill, this large orange mushroom is typically found growing on tree stumps, logs, or tree bases. Some subspecies of this mushroom contain the hallucinogenic compound psilocybin.

PLEASE note the bold 'subspecies' part, so don't be going finding orange fungi...and munching on it, as it's likely to be poisonous!!!Smile
