Laurel Hill Cemetery #23

By handlerstudio
This is the penultimate set from Laurel Hill Cemetery....A possible silly Sunday entry....a place to rest in a cemetery? This set is of images near the entry to Laurel Hill....some donor recognition (it is a non-profit), some graves to speak of. Tomorrow is the last set.

Today for me is two weeks since my second shot!!!!

This is just ... weird. I have never thought that a cemetery was to be 'enjoyed" let alone have a gift shop. And where do you buy the 'family lots available"? At the gift shop? Or the on line store?

I appreciate that this cemetery is of historical significants, but is also apparently (family lots available) still an active cemetery. Some of this just seems extremely irreverent and disrespectful of those buried there.

However, that said, this is an extremely interesting set.

Interesting but also very strange. In the UK we have too many companies cashing in on death. Not just the funeral directors but also life insurance companies like the dreadful 'Sunlife' trying to cash in on people's fears of not being able to pay for their mown funeral. When my mother died some years ago the funeral director had all the sincerity of a used car salesman. He even wanted to know whom his closest competitor was in terms of price.
