Two wonderfully rocking images. Whilst the colour image captures the mood, the lighting and the atmosphere very well it is the monochrome that really rocks. Superbly converted with a good tonal range.

Great work Malc.

Thanks for sharing

I hate those colours when they crop up in studios: but they are great here, for this subject.

V2, please.

Probably the mono Malcolm but only because it is so well processed. It isn't just a colour image converted to mono.

I'm with Danny on this one, and with Adam too.
Having said which, the surreality is probably enhanced by the colour.
No, I can't decide after all. Time to ask your subject, I think!

I like the colour as he looks sweatier and we can see more of his body art.

Definitely the colour version for me even though the mono version is very well processed. I think that the colour describes the nature of the music better.

The mono is great Malc but V2 is bloody fantastic!
Love the working you've done on it creating the perfect atmosphere
for the image.

V1 out of these two, by a long way. It's loud, I can hear it.
I think my problem with V2 is that it's very, well, pink. I wonder what reducing magenta would do?

Definitely mono. The colour is so bright that's all I see and don't hear anything. I like it as a picture. But feel the music in mono.

I love the sheer vibrancy of the colours in V2, even if it is a bit pink in hue ... that's a bit like the epitome of rock though, they're so cool and manly, it doesn't matter if the lighting's pink!! Grin

However, having looked at 'em both for a while, I think I prefer the mono - because in the mono version, the movement of the hand across the body of the guitar is far more obvious; it kind of gets lost in the colour version.

So yeah ... mono Smile

I really don't like the colours. It's the mono for me.

Colour version for me, I have to say not keen at all on the conversion. Be interested to see how you converted it.

Cripes Malc, I cant decide....... I like both. V2 is like looking through a sweet wrapper, raspberry cream of course, not a brazil nut toffee.....that would be brownTongue

They spend a fortune on lighting and then some photographer comes along and well you know the rest.

Wonderfully dynamic shot Malc. I prefer the mono version because his face comes out better.
