Thats because i just relixed i put the wrong lense down it was a 50mm 1.8 lol

there is nothing usual about the lens choice, an f number of 1.8 allows for natural light to be used with out flash and a 50mm even on a small format sensor..found in the 350D still falls in the range of 50mm - 100mm portrait lenses at retain natural optical perspective.

on my Minolta x-500 l have a Minolta 50mm at f1:7 specifically for portrait use for the natural perspective.
