There's a superb image at the heart of this, but I would prefer to see a straight presentation without the faffing. The splashes of green really don't add anything for me, they are a complication too far. And the use of fractalius or similar is also distracting. They get in the way of appreciation of the essential truth in the image.
Perhaps this would work better in b&w?
Hope you won't be offended by that.

Offended ? Not at all Moira, interested to hear people's reactions.

I much prefer the straight b&w version! It's about the subject rather than the processing.

I do like the colour but I would have removed the greens.

I like both versions but perhaps the mono one a little more.
Both show off the strength in those fingers. 💪.

I'm with Moira on this - there are superlative textures in the straight image, and it needs nothing extra. Mono is good, but an untextured colour version might well top it...

I can see a place for adding textures (usually very subtly, and in background areas), but this is such a strong reportage shot that it doesn't need anything other than straight processing, I'd say.

Value of shares may go up and down. Other opinions exist.

I like the lead, I think the processing makes it look a little like a painting and the patches of green add a bit more of an artistic touch
