Hi John,
This is a good shot that captures the moment perfectly, well done.
John I've posted a mod where I have tried to give the ambiance a little boost. After making a copy I altered the vibrance to 58% and the saturation to 7%, then removed the effect from everwhere other than the sky by using a layer mask and black brush. I'm sure your aware of the fact that in elements etc when using a layer mask a brush set to the colour black acts as an eraser, if you then change the colour to white it will replace anything that you have just erased (so long as you have not flattened the image
).
After flattening the image I made another copy and in your blend mods select "Screen", this will lighten the image. I reduced the opacity to 48% before erasing the effect from everywhere but the ship, just to balance it with the now more colourful sky.
See what you think John.
Take care
Martin

Martin -
A really interesting mod, and one that absolutely illustrates the different ways that people "see" the same scene...
My original is a distortion of what was in front of me - it was, actually, too bright to look at for more than a few moments. I chose to underexpose heavily, and have a soft look that suits an evening feeling (in my mind, anyway).
The mod is certainly a more eye-grabbing interpretation: brighter, and a more obviously full range of tones. (And I didn't know all of that - was struggling earlier with a hsot where i want to use layers, and failed: in the darkroom, it's so much simpler if you want to tone down a bright bit of background! I will now go back and see if i can apply it...)

John, easier in the darkroom is a matter of opinion
The mod took all of ........mmmmmmm.......two minutes
It's just what your use to, I can't do any of the things my Grandkids can do on mobile phones, and some of them are two and three. But i do sit smug in the knowledge that I know how to use an abarcus and they don't

John just get in touch if you need to
Take care
