Leiston Abbey 2

By mrswoolybill
Another detail, bullseye glass plus curtain. I liked the distortion...
This is an outbuilding, part of what looks like an abandoned youth hostel. (For further information about the place see the first upload here.)
Thanks for looking,
Moira

It isn't easy to find bullseye glass these days.

Someone has twitched the curtain-twitcher's curtain...Wink

Perhaps the view of the world through this glass is more akin to today's reality then is seen through more normal glass...

Thanks folks, and I like that sense of the curtain twitching. There are eyes looking at us.
And thanks Ollie for the UA.

In the present days of vandalism, it is amazing to find all the window glass intact. Well found and captured. You cannot help to wonder what the view, from the other side of the glass, would be like!

Very interesting shot. Although I like it as it is, I would like to see a version where the three panes on the left were cropped out to give more of the impresssion of a face

I like how the glass distorts the curtain. A very well-framed image, Moira, both the window and your composition! 😃👍

Thanks everyone, and thanks Ian for the UA.
I can see the possibilities for a face here, I was aiming for abstract square rather than letting my pareidolia run riot (again... )
And I'd love to see the view from the other side. Sadly not possible - the site is not even staffed so there was no way of asking.

Well spotted and very well captured Moira , could see this type of glass making a comeback now if someone produced it!.

Wide eyes, twitching curtains, that's the effect that I wanted.
And thanks Somnath for the UA!

Would be so cool to see someone behind this window. Just look what it does to the curtains. Great image.

I love this old glass and that two pieces are never the same. nice contrast of the green?blue cool colour of the glass and the warner beige of the curtain. Great distortions too.

Thanks again folks. James, the blue / green in the glass is why this isn't in b&w!

I photographed some windows like this in a castle in Italy, and fell in. love---- wishing I could have this sort of window in my house!

A grand image!
