Award Shortlist

Leucistic Redwing (Turdus iliacus)

By DerekL
Thank you for all of you who took the time to comment/vote on my previous upload of a Short-eared Owl, especially to mike9005, Backabit and chensuriashi for their User Awards, all much appreciated.

Here is an image of a Leucistic Redwing from the 1st session I have been out photographing since 16 Sep 2020, as I am looking after my wife 24/7 at home due to illness and she is spending a few days in hospital.
It certainly stood out in the bushes compared to it's other normal counterparts.

This is awesome, Derek, what a very rare find and superb portrait. Hope it gets plenty of well deserved awards! A delight to see this. For beginners like me Leucistic must be semi-albino? We had a rook here earlier this year which was half-white, confused for a magpie unless viewed close up 🙂

Dave.
