Liam and I ... (OK Dave?)

Another one from the mobile phone archives

Always fun to revisit this particularly awkward moment in a north London M&S food hall

Spotting him at the checkout I strolled over with my mobile phone in selfie mode and said "Hi Noel, any chance of a quick photo?"

He said "It's Liam! I'm Liam!"

If ever I'd wanted the floor to open and swallow me up it was then

And then I found my hand on his shoulder while I laughingly gabbled an apology

And he then held his hand about 3 feet above the ground and said in his strong Manchester accent "No 'e's little! E's right down 'ere!"

Followed by "Go on then" as he pulled a pose only he could do

Just one click of the camera phone did it, and he gave me a friendly pat on the back as we went our separate ways

It was one of the more surreal, hilarious moments in my life

Lucky I caught him in a good mood I guess
