Life on the other side....

By NDODS
I captured this image a little while ago now. It shows the Power Station at Kingsnorth and the Docks on the Isle of Grain which are located on the other side of the Peninsula from where I live. I have photographed the site on numerous occasions but never before in such difficult lighting conditions, and to be honest I was quite pleased with the outcome.

Anyway back to reality, I must take this time to thank you all for commenting and voting on yesterday's quite indifferent ornithological upload. A special mention goes to Herge88's (Matt) and TrevBattWCC's (Trevor) for presenting me with their most appreciated UA's. Grin

Well only four days left until we all over indulge in festive cheer and a further three days until I get a rather lovely present. Julie has got me a lovely puppy. He will be called Kismet, and is a cross between a Jack Russell and a Border Terrier. "Can't wait"

I shall say goodbye for the time being, I hope that you all have a great day ahead, for me "who knows?"

Take care, fondest regards Nathan GrinGrinGrin

I'd never imagine the puppy would be called Kismet. I hope it brings luck to you dear Nathan and increases your kismet.

I love this special shot! The tone, the compo and the atmosphere is excellent, and the grazing sheep below is the most important feature for me. So well done, as usual.

An excellent result in, as you say, challenging light conditions which makes an industrial site look quite beautiful. So very jealous of your puppy present! What a wonderful combination of breeds that should be and full of character.

Woops! Just realised this is the 30th click and your RC Grin

There is a certain type of elegance in the industrial here. I can't help but think that the cranes are mimicking graceful swans.
Beautiful light and colour, this is a cracking shot.

A great composition with all those man-made structures, taken in lovely, well-suited lighting.

What joy, a great pressie - and 'Kismet' is a super name for your new little friend. You'll be having much fun with him and I'm sure we'll be seeing his progress in the days to come.
Best of Season's Greetings, Nathan, and take care of yourself SmileSmileSmile

What a cute co incidence " KISMET" or to be precise "Kismat" in Urdu dialect means "LUCK". You are lucky in both cases , this unique exposure & the gift from Julie. Be happy.

The toning takes some of the harshness from the pylons and cables.

The light and tones are superb Nathan I like the power lines I feel they help the shot when in other captures we tend to hate seeing them not in this case though it's a well worked image that I really like .
Enjoy the puppy my good friend, and may I say a very happy Christmas to you and Julie, hope you both get what you wish for in 2013.
