Knew it would be good in b&w, as it's basically a very good photo, so you can't really go wrong. slight preference for the color version, but both deserve a big click Susie

I think this version works very well. To be very picky...it seems the horizon dips slightly to the left, no offence intended. A very nice B&W conversion.

If Sir Koen POTW prefers colour then so do I Smile

Actually Susie, I do prefer the colour version. I still think that splash of yellow from the hut really made the shot work.

Thank you so much Jouko, Tony and Koen - appreciate you each taking the time to view and comment ...

Steve - grateful for your feedback. And you're right about the horizon, there is a slight lean going on. lol I had to compromise between the verticals of the tower and the horizon! No doubt someone with more advanced PS skills than I could've made a better job of it! lol Thank you again for dropping by ...

lol Dave 'Sir Koen POTW' - he's such a show off, isn't he!? ... thank you for visiting!

Cheers Paul; grateful for your valued feedback, thank you ...

Aaah, the BW works really well. Can't separate them in terms of preference, they are both really well executed.

Thank you Jon, Anna, Phil, Chelsea, Michael, Mark, Maria and Caleb ...

Paul - thank you so much for going to the trouble to prepare the mods; it's much appreciated! Always love to see another's take on my shots. I'm still to learn about dodging and burning! lol Thank you once again ...

And Pete! I'm genuinely astounded - an unexpected and thrilling surprise ... my first ever HC, and there's even two of em! lol I'm really delighted; needless to say, it's made my day ... :o))

Congrats Susie :o)))
The way your - especially landscape - photography is evolving lately the HC's are very much deserved, and no doubt about it, an EC will soon follow.
Enjoy the "being on a cloud"-feeling :o)

Susie - I saw the colour version yesterday and thought about clicking but didn't. This B&W version is imho far better. It adds a lot of dramatic impact and also mood to the shot. Looking at it (from the perspective of someone living in the Northern hemisphere) it says 'summer is over and the life guards have packed up and gone home for the winter'. John

I like both Susie. If you look around there's a trick to give the sky more contrast - it might add something extra to an already great capture Smile

Superb atmosphere here. The dark tones contrast so well against the light sky. It does remind me of films showing prisoner of war camps though.
