Looks so different in colour!

I notice a couple of points; the colour saturation seems a little high, and theres a slightly red tone. Likely due to white balance., or perhaps you have the cam set for vivid, or you increased saturation post processing. It looks better to me with this corrected, mods 1 and 2, - and mod3 if a b&w conversion from the colour.

Thanks again Willie, I can see cropping in tighter really works, it's all in the eyes as you say!
I think I may have to invest in a new monitor, the camera was on auto w/b and not on vivid, I couldn't see the red tinge on it, but I could see it on my iPad when I saw yr msg, think it may be tired. Seriously thinking bout buying a Mac when I have funds!

This is better than the mono images technically. A nice picture in terms of content, but the lighting is flat and she has very dark eyes. I don't think you are actually far out in the first place. I actually rather prefer the colour to the mono, and I suspect the problem we have been seeing is in your conversion technique rather than the shooting.

I would run the dodge tool across her eyes and maybe just brighten a bit.

My Canon camera tend to produce warm images as standard. I prefer that - warm better than cool any time for me. Your content is predominently warm colours and that is what we are seeing.
